The mesh is helpful to see the product you are seeking and yet washable; I don't recommend the plastic or solid canvas types. These over the door organizers are good for shoes, toques, mitts, socks etc... Throw out the hanging door hooks though and buy 3 "Command (brand name)- Stick on hooks," they are strong enough to support a full inventory of shoes. The hanging door hooks that are provided will scratch your door and frame. I'd have given it 5 stars if it came with Command stick on hooks. I do recommend this product.
