Why I didn't find this in the past 30+ years, I don't know. This organizer is just the answer I've been looking for to my jewelry organizing problem! I've tried all sorts of jewelry boxes, hangers, and bags and have always been frustrated by them. Previous problems I have had were: jewelry would get tangled up with each other; or pairs of earrings would be hard to find; or it would be a hassle to put in or take out, or they are not clear so I don't know what's in them; or they were too small. Closet Accessories 24 Tie Hardwood Hanger

I needed a new tie and belt organizer that I could hang rather than screwing into the wall, so I ordered three from Amazon: Walnut Tie Rack With Swivel Hook, this walnut tie rack shaped like shirt hanger, and Twirl-a-Tie Organizer. I already owned a vertical style hanger like the Non-slip Tie & Belt Valet.

My recommendation is for either the walnut rack on swivel hook or this walnut rack shaped like a shirt hanger, depending on your needs.

The Twirl-a-Tie is just a gimmick. Made of ugly plastic, its hooks are not spaced far enough apart, so you can use only every other hook or mash your ties together. Even using only every other hook, the ties are still crushed between the hooks at the inside. I would buy the Twirl-a-Tie only if I knew a small boy who owned some ties and wanted a hanger. It is too bulky to be used for travel.

The walnut tie rack on swivel hook is sturdy and decent-looking, although not something to show off. It will accept 22 ties on its 22 hooks, which are sized and spaced adequately. It is easy to get the ties on and off the hooks, and the hooks are long enough to hang belts on the end in addition to the ties. Drawbacks: (1) it does not swivel easily and must be removed from the closet to pick a tie; (2) it is wide and the hooks push into the clothes on either side; (3) it is long and your ties may dangle onto things if the floor of your closet is stacked high.

The walnut tie rack shaped like a shirt hanger will hold 24 ties. It is nice-looking and sturdy enough... I think. The major drawback is that it is difficult to remove ties from the rack. The rack has to be removed from the closet and some of the moveable hooks re-arranged to get a tie off. Unlike the walnut swivel, this hanger is relatively thin and space-efficient and keeps the ties dangling higher off the closet floor. It cannot accept belts, but the company makes a matching belt rack that I suspect works well.

If your personality is such that you would get annoyed having to move hooks to get at an individual tie, choose the walnut swivel. If you are short on space in your closet, choose the walnut shirt-style hanger.

I previously owned one of the vertical tie organizers like the non-slip. I hated it. It has the drawbacks of all three of the above reviewed: it is ugly and crushes the ties together; it must be removed from the closet to choose a tie and dangles the ties too low; it is difficult to get at the ties on the hanger. You will regret buying it.

John Louis Home JLH-571 Standard Adjustable Shelves Kit, Red Mohagany

About a month ago, I purchased and installed a John Louis Closet System (12" wide shelves) in one of my small bedroom closets. It was a struggle. In any case, I then discovered that I was one shelf short of the drawing supplied with the instructions. Somewhat annoyed, I called a 1-800 customer-service number and complained (politely). The response couldn't have gone any better and I was sent another shelf within three days. However, I noted that I was still short of shelf space and the closet, as designed, could easily use one or two additional shelves. The customer-service lady suggested I go to a couple web sites and purchase the additional shelves there. I checked with Amazon (not one of the recommended sites), and there were the shelves.

Forty-six bucks for a couple shelves? Wow! The whole closet system went for under $250, and two of the small shelves went for $46? Oh well, what can you do? I ordered the shelves and they arrived within 5 days, as promised. These shelves can be very easily damaged, but they arrived in good condition and the red mahogany finish matched my closet system perfectly. The fit was precise. I'm somewhat annoyed at the cost, but the shelves and my shopping experience would indicate 5 stars.

We have a very constricted area by the back door. We had a rack but shoes fell off if they didn't have well defined heels. We needed a rack that would fit into the same area but kept the shoes in place. This rack was and is perfect. It is compact, measuring only about 10" from the wall to the front of the rack. The lips on the shelves keep the shoes in place - doesn't matter if they hang off a bit in the front or back. We've only had it a couple of months, so I can't really speak to durability, but nothing has broken or come loose so far and we've had it full from day one. I would purchase another and would recommend it to anyone who asked.

My Closet Shoe Caddy

I thought the quality of the product was excellent. It is the perfect size for children's shoes and it's very sturdy. Unfortunately the day after I received mine in the mail I walked into Target and there were children's shoe bins for $1 which was A LOT less than I paid for these. I wanted to return the ones I had purchased but after paying over $10 in shipping to receive the product, I would have had to pay another $10+ to return in, which just wasn't cost efficient. Neatfreak NeatKids Closet Organizer

This closet organizer was very cute, and very well priced! I ordered it to go inside of the matching neatfreak neatKids Whimiscal Wardrobe to help organize my daughter's dress up collection. I love the product, but recommend using it for a closet like it specifies and not for inside the matching wardrobe. It definitely serves its purpose, but is too long and drags the floor. This is my fault for not reading the dimmensions correctly, but I figured if they were a part of the same collection, they could all be used together. I have quite a few long beaded necklaces and chains as well as bracelets and bangles. I've tried jewelry armoires, jewelry boxes, plastic organizers, drawer organizers, and either couldnt fit everything because of space limitations or because some items were too bulky. I ended up not wearing many things because I just couldn't see what I had. This organizer is fantastic! I have it on the inside of my bedroom closet door so that when I'm getting ready for work I can just choose my jewelry quickly before I go. I can see everything at the same time and find I wear things I haven't in a long time because they're right in front of me. I also stay more organized and put things away when I come home at night because It's quick to replace what I've worn...no more opening drawers, lifting out little boxes or plastic trays, etc. (maybe I was lazy but I'd end up taking things off and just set them on my dresser...and usually wear the same thing the next day)
I've used the small hooks at the top (the ones shown with rings) for additional necklace storage for my small pendants on 18" or 20" chains. I have to reach behind the bracelet rack to hang them but it's really no trouble and works great for me since I have too many large fashion rings to hang anyway. That's the only downfall, that there's limited ring storage. i still keep them in a drawer in a plastic compartmentalized tray. There is a nice little tray on this organizer where I put my watches which could certainly be used for rings.
I've filled my organizer up and plan on getting another for inside my other closet door since I've started learning how to make jewelry. Amazon has the best price for this organizer too... I looked at a few organizing supply websites and compared prices. The vendor was super quick in delivery. I placed my order in the morning and I believe I had it the next day. I would definitely recommend this product. I feel like I finally found the solution to my organizing dilemma.

Umbra Bijou Metal Hanging Closet Organizer

I was looking for a way to organize my purses and came across this bizarre looking little item in Amazon's gouping of organizers. I have several purses and my idea when buying more than one was the hope that I would leave the house on a daily basis looking like a 1950's wife in my color coordinated outfits, shoes and purses. I was probably suffering from lack of sleep at that phase in my life. Even movies stars don't always make it out the door in color coordinated outfits. But, it was, and is a dream. So, now I am one step closer to my dream...a short step. I have removed my various purses from their hide outs and gotten them all together to meet one another in my closet. My closet gave a groan and made room for the batch of them after I made a trip to GoodWill to get rid of other excesses. So now they hang out together on this funny little hanger doo dad I found at Amazon. It is a sad day when you have to go looking for things to organize all the THINGS that you have, but that day has arrived and better organized and used, than hiding unforgotten in a cabinet somewhere. I even managed to get a color routine going with this little hook thing. The ligher colored pures are on the top and the darker on the bottom. Fortunately I stopped buying purses before I had so many I had to hang one on the Very Back Hook, so it still fits flat up again the closet back.. The closet itslelf is happy about that.
Now on to more basic things: This particulat widget is approximately 15 " long and 8 wide. It is Much Wider when things are hanging on it. It looks small and innocent when not full, but it can take up lots of space it is supposed to save. Also it is longer by the length of the longest item you hang on the bottom. It scrunches against other things on the sides, and would go to my hall closet to live except for its basic purpose at my house: coordinating purses whith shoes and clothing. Since shoes and clothing are in the closet, the handiest place for this is in the closet with them. For now that is its highest and best purpose.
It would take up less space and also be an excellent hanger if it held the following: belts, ties, jewelery, or any smaller item that you have too many of for the space you have.
It is hoped that someday, I will get past this coordinational effort of organizing my outerwear and get on with something more useful, but for the time being, I do this. Hope it was helpful in your own quest to be an organized person of the planet.

Specialized Hangers

I love clothes. But, I live in an older house and I have to share a closet with my husband. We have done the best we can with a closet system but it's still not enough for a fashionista like me, and I was about to make him put his clothes in the backyard shed. Hey, it's California, it doesn't get that cold. I have more than 25 pairs of work/dress pants, and only a 1 1/2 foot space to put them in. I've been going crazy jamming stuff into that tiny space - putting two or three pants on the same hanger. Everything wrinkles and I can't see what's in there.

I bought five of these skirt/pant hangers and am amazed at how much room I saved. I have 20 pants hanging up and there is room for a couple more of these. I think I can get everything hung up now, without having to worry about wrinkles or not finding anything. I really love them.

I would love to add more for my blouses and skirts but the area I have for those is shorter, and I think I could only get two things on. I don't want to spend 10 bucks and only use half the hanger. It would be nice if these came in different tiers for different spaces.

If you are looking to save space in your closet and keep your husband from having to get dressed in the back yard - this is definitely the product for you.

Tip: You can alternate putting pants on one side, and then the other, by twisting the clip. This makes them even out in the closet, and then you can easily grab them. Another thing I did was hang some by the bottom and some by the waistband. Another way of maximizing space. It's helpful to put them together by color and style so you can grab what you want when you need it.
